About the Fellowship

The lower limb reconstruction Fellowship at Melbourne Orthopaedic Group allows the successful applicant to work alongside A/Prof Andrew Shimmin and Mr Jonathan Bare.

The Fellowship program has been running for 20 years and has a very successful alumni and significant publication history.

The applicant will be involved in all aspects of primary and revision hip and knee replacements, knee soft tissue ligamentous reconstructive procedures and hip arthroscopy procedures.

The position requires the applicant to be appropriately trained and motivated to perform clinical research of publication quality.

The position is either 6 or 12 months on applicant’s preference and can be negotiated.
The annual reimbursement is $100,000 per annum or part therefore based on length of appointment.

The applicant will also have time allowed in their schedule to explore all that the city of Melbourne and southern Australia has to offer and acknowledges the important stage of life of young orthopaedic surgeons.
